Fernando La Rosa's earliest years were spent in Arequipa, Peru. His mother instilled in him a love for art, classical music, and literature. Later the family live in Bolivia, Tacna, Cusco, and finally Lima. Fernando recalled his fascination with the Inca walls in Cusco, tracing the intersections of stone with his fingers as he walked to and from school.
